Cocoa Beach Pirate Festival

Avast me hearties! I heeded the call of the Salt Life when the Pirates of the Treasure Coast called me requesting photos & videos in exchange for a weekend of fun at the Cocoa Beach Pirate Festival ~ with hotel room included at the International Palms Resort & Conference Center. How could I say No? My gal-pal and I then headed north on Friday evening after work, arrived, and got dressed for the Pirates Ball. I wore a regular black [read, vendor] dress with a bit of lace that was suited for camera work, yet resembled a Dolce & Gabbana number, and my gal-pal was fully decked in an Irish green corset, pirate hat ~ the works! I must say the Pirate Ball was jolly good fun! Everyone was dressed exquisitely, entered several costume contests, and it was a safe space to be a bawdy pirate! Even the music was insanely inappropriate! I must say I had quite a few chuckles! At the end of the evening, after everyone left, I was filming random props to add to production value of the video/film/highlights, then someone very special started talking to me. Yes, I discovered precious treasure in the form of an admirable Admiral, the Admiral Norton, who hails from the Cape of Royal Palm. It was not a matter of luck, it was fate.

The next day, I enjoyed an absolutely delicious Cuban Sandwich and Gazpacho soup from Mambo’s Beachside Bar & Grill and listened to the unique sounds of A-Tribe’s sitar and didgeridoo – absolutely, mesmerizing-ly hypnotizing! At night, the Admiral and I enjoyed sipping on Scotch and Coconut Rum, respectively, whist conversing near a fire pit then snuggling on the white sands under the sparkly, starlit sky with glowing moon and cosmic magic.

While most special moments are remembered by those who shared them, you can see the highlights video, below!
Oh, and it doesn’t stop there! A few weeks later, the Admiral and I attended the Punta Gorda Fishermen’s Village Pirate Fest! See the next post for those details and video!
