“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” ~ Mark Twain

Welcome to the Girl’s Guide to Travel & Adventure, and thank you for visiting. My name is Dawn Dubruiel and I am your hostess with the mostest. Please do not let the title of this page deter you from further investigation; this site is for everyone who’s active, loves to explore nature and art, and is trying to live their best life.

This site features books and blogs I’ve written about beautiful places to expand one’s world view; adventures; certain milestones in my personal life such as becoming a homeowner, graduation, new jobs which felt like quantum jumps; philosophies on success; and of course random things I want to do/have. It is not a running documentary but I do enjoy blogging when I have the chance.

Please subscribe to my blog and check out my media-rich Multi-touch books on the Apple Store. (Links are below.) I think Apple Books are by far the most beautiful way to create a book because they’re loaded with colorful images, videos, and interactive widgets. In this era of mobile-learning, what a fun way to absorb information! I am also working on my next book – about California’s beauties (Redwoods, anyone?) – and will build it in InDesign as soon as the manuscript is solid. I am learning EPUB is the one format to rule them all, that I can create a hot e-mag that looks like a Harry Potter newspaper (with alive images!) and bring it into iBooks Author to make it dance. This is my goal before 2019 concludes. Also, Amazon is truly the king of books, so please check out my simple paperback and Kindle books on Amazon. I still need to convert my other two books to Amazon.

Thank you for visiting.
