Florida Keys: Fun in the Sun

Post image for Florida Keys: Fun in the Sun

In July 2020, the beautiful Florida Keys reopened, and my fiance and I decided to take a few days off of work after a rigorous stretch. Since we live in Fort Lauderdale, we make it down to the Keys often enough, but really would love to have the Key West life. This time, we decided to try new things such as snorkeling at Sombrero Reef and Parasailing. Please check out the video for a wonderful montage of bliss and fun! See below for precise links to activities, delicious food, and accommodations.

Enjoy a stop at Lorelei Restaurant & Cabana Bar for their delicious Key Lime Peppercorn chicken or snapper.

Feed the tarpon at Robbie’s in Islamorada.

Starfish Marathon Snorkeling Tours to immerse yourself in the crystal blue waters seen in the aforementioned video.

Book a parasailing adventure with Fury in Key West.

We stayed at the romantic The Mermaid & The Alligator B&B which can get very pricey. If you do not mind sharing the bathroom with people you will not likely bump into, we highly recommend Key West Bed and Breakfast® which is absolutely charming, a 50% savings from other historic B&Bs, and the best breakfast I have ever had at a B&B, featured in the video above.

Rent bikes from Eaton Bikes (nicest owner, ever!) and ride over to West Martello Tower, a hidden gem off of the beaten path.

Make sure you enjoy a La Margherita Classica then have a Peanut Butter Gelato for dessert from Duetto Pizza and Gelato. In 2018, Trip Advisor ranked them in the top 10 of Best Pizzerias in America.

This was our first time visiting The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, and we loved it.

See the Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square.

For this adventure, you will need some protection. Trust me. Here are some of my essentials:
