Bok Tower Gardens, a Fairytale come to life

Post image for Bok Tower Gardens, a Fairytale come to life

Did you know that Lake Wales in central Florida has a magical fairyland, other than Disney?

* Since this post was published, I wrote The Five Treasures of Florida, with an entire chapter dedicated to Bok Tower.

Bok Tower, seated on Iron Mountain, one of the highest points of peninsular, FL, is a beautiful construction dedicated to the preservation of wildlife by Edward W. Bok. Bok worked very hard to become a successful publisher and Pulitzer Prize winner. Originally from the Netherlands, he realized his dream and built Bok Tower, a 205-foot neo-Gothic and art deco Singing Tower carillon. Walking through these gardens and hearing the singing tower is truly a magical experience. It’s like a fairy-tale, and I never wanted to leave. It is built . The grounds offer many breathtaking vistas.

Open 365 days per year from 8am – 6pm, tickets cost $18 per adult. The Singing Tower carillon concerts are at 1 & 3 p.m. daily with short selections played on the hour and half-hour, in-between.
